Business Communication – Intermediate

CODE: LSE-I-200

Pre-requisites/ Input Criterion: The candidate should be able to listen, speak, read and write English so as to give personal information, describe people, place, and things, describe habits and routines, make requests and suggestions, describe past experiences. Candidate should have completed LAQSH Business Communications LSA-B-200.

Duration: 40 hours

Course Description: The course is designed to communicate in English at work with colleagues and customers. It will cover the following areas:

  • Expressing agreement and disagreements
  • Expressing opinions, justifications, suggestions
  • Expressing reactions
  • Developing an argument
  • Describing hopes and plans
  • Critiquing and initiating & closing interactions
  • Expressing certainty and uncertainty
  • Persuade effectively
  • Students are expected to participate actively
  • Workbooks and Computer based tests to practice are part of the course
  • The course is designed to be “fun” with activities like People Bingo, Role Plays, Puzzles and structural exercises
  • There are several videos and audio visuals to engage the students.

Subsequent to course completion: You will be able to:

  • Participate effectively in meetings and express your agreement/disagreement as well as your opinion/ suggestion
  • Read/Comprehend reports, e-mails and respond
  • Prepare & deliver presentations
  • Describe & review plans, prepare minutes of a meeting
  • LAQSH uses Immersion Methodology to build skills for Description, Narration, Negotiation and Presentation in English
  • Our programs are student centered and the student has to take charge of his / her own learning
