From DR SRK MPL High School in Guntakal, Anantapur, a group of 26 tenth-grade students participated in an internship at AU Small Finance Bank in Guntakal. This experience, organized under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan program, was initiated by their vocational teacher, K. Satyanarayana, who aimed to give his students a glimpse into real-world banking. The ten-day internship, spanning from October 2 to October 13, was designed to familiarize students with the various functions and responsibilities of a banking institution.

On the first day, students were introduced to the bank manager and received an overview of the bank’s functions. Over the following days, they delved deeper into the bank’s operations. On the second day, they learned about microfinance and the general responsibilities within the banking sector. By the third day, they practiced filling out essential forms, including demand draft (D.D.), deposit, withdrawal, and customer service forms.

The fourth day focused on loan processing, where students explored procedures for home, personal, and vehicle loans, as well as biometric authentication. By day five, they were engaging directly with customers to discuss various loan products, such as gold loans, home loans, and personal loans. The sixth day was dedicated to learning about record-keeping and infrastructure maintenance at the branch level.

On the seventh day, students interacted with microfinance executives, gaining insight into their roles and responsibilities within the bank. Day eight involved understanding the processes for collecting EMIs, managing interactions with default customers, and verifying customer documents. The ninth and tenth days were holidays.

This immersive internship provided students with valuable hands-on experience, bridging the gap between theory and practice. Many students expressed increased confidence in their knowledge of banking and finance, with some even considering careers in this field after completing their studies. This internship proved to be a transformative experience, equipping these young students with practical insights and future aspirations in the world of banking.
 

During the Dussehra holidays, students from Andhra Pradesh State Model School, ZPHS Kadavakal, participated in a ten-day internship at a mechanical repair shop and a mobile repair shop in Kadavakallu, from October 2 to October 12, 2024. This electronics-based internship provided a valuable link between classroom theory and hands-on, real-world applications.

On the first day, students were introduced to the internship program, learning about its objectives and how to use the tools required for fan repair. On the second day, they learnt about the use of computers, including basic operations like opening a browser, as well as the role of local government offices like Sachivalayam.

On the third day, students visited a mechanic shop, where they explored various parts of mechanical equipment. By the fourth day, they were delving into the inner components of a ceiling fan, learning how to open and examine the stator, rotor, and bearings. On the fifth day, they moved on to understanding the fan’s exterior and the tools used for fan repairs. The sixth day focused on fan repair techniques and understanding electrical connections.

On the seventh day, the shop owner guided the students in disassembling a fan, allowing them to perform the reconnections themselves and successfully repair a faulty fan. The experience continued on the eighth day at a mobile repair shop, where students were introduced to phone repair and the specialized tools used in mobile maintenance. The ninth day was dedicated to disassembling mobile phones and familiarizing themselves with various components. On the final day, students practiced replacing damaged phone parts with new ones.

Throughout this internship, students learned to utilize essential repair tools, strengthening their practical and theoretical knowledge. This electronics and hardware-focused experience proved transformative for the ZPHS Kadavakal students, boosting their confidence and interest in technical fields. By the end of the ten days, the students had gained skills and insights that extended far beyond the classroom, making the internship an enriching and memorable experience.
